Education on an iPOD
Do you have an Apple iPod or other mp3 player? If yes, what do you use it for? Probably like most people you use your iPod to listen to music. Top choice, I have over 5000 songs on my iPod. But do you use your iPod for educational purposes? Using the iPod for Educational Purposes After having iPods since they first came out, I am an iPod fan from wayback. However it has only been in the last year that I have started downloading educational podcasts to my iPod. There is an awful lot of great podcast material out there. You can see some of this by going to the iTunes store (free downloads)and selecting podcasts. I am very interested in learning more about history and literature so I mainly download podcasts in these areas. My favorites are: Hardcore History by Dan Carlin, History according to Bob and the History podcast, alt.NPR Poetry off the Shelf and Classic Poetry Aloud - all of these can be downloaded from iTunes or via www.podcastalley.com/ Using your iPod to Learn a Language The other educational use I have for my iPod, is learning new languages. I am learning French and German currently. I get the podcasts from iTunes and they are free: Learn French with Coffee Break French and My Daily Phrase German Both of these podcasts come from www.radiolingua.com. The iPod gives you an opportunity to increase your learning and have a new language at your fingertips (or ear tips). And when you are all brain dead from so much learning you can go back to the music. Peace |
