My Favorite Car
By Grant Goodman
The Hillman Super Minx The best car that I ever owned was a 1965 Hillman Super Minx. It was not a powerful car, but was an ideal car for a young lad to learn the basics of car maintenance on. The engine was a simple 4 cylinder, over head valve, 1600cc model. The bodywork was of steel that could have come from a Russian tank. The interior had leather seats and a modern looking dashboard for the era. I drove the car for years and it was very reliable. I finally traded it in on a Subaru coupe and lived to regret it. The person who bought it off me got years of reliable service from it. There are not many around now, but if I see one for sale I will be snapping it up. |
