The Hidden Power of Prayer By Grant Goodman Prayer is a powerful weapon in the battle of human living. It allows us to be empowered and to draw from hidden depths within and without. Tennyson illustrates this well in the line of one of his poems, More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Prayer has overturned despots and tyrants, provided peace and contentment to weary and troubled souls, healed the sick and performed many other marvelous things. Prayer has a hidden power known only to those who pray. The benefits accrue to all those who are prayed for.

Your words Prayer has overturned despots brings to mind the People Power revolution in the Philippines in which nuns overthrew President Marcos.
