The Honda Hornet 919 I have recently returned to motorcycling after a break of 15 years. I looked around at a number of motorcycles. I was looking for a bike that would be safe, fuel efficient, comfortable and have a reasonable level of performance. My choice was the Honda Hornet (919 in the USA). This 919cc motorcycle has 4 cylinders, a 6 speed gearbox, fuel injection, a robust engine and comfortable riding position. I have now been riding this bike for 2 years and it has lived up to my expectations. The engineering is solid, maintenance costs have been low and the bike is economical, getting around 52MPG (Imperial Gallon = 4.55L)on a trip. The engine pulls smoothly from low revs up to near the redline. It has good performance but it is not a fire-breather, just right for a 50+ "born again biker". I can recommend this bike to anyone else who is looking to return to motorcycling after a long break.
