The iPad looks so Cool

I have just watched the presentation on the new iPad and I have to have one. I have purchased each version of the iPod when they came out. I love my iPhone 3G and now I want the iPad. The iPad has much more screen real estate. That will make it awesome for surfing, music, podcasts etc. I am in love... I will have money in hand when it gets released in March here in the UK. |

The iPad looks like a pretty big computer paradigm shift to me. One quote I read somewhere said something to the effect of "it's not that it's just a big iPhone or iPod touch, but rather those two devices are clearly stripped down iPads in a compact form." I see the iPad not so much targeted to gadget lovers (in fact many seem to dislike it if you keep up on the gadget blogs), but as a device for regular people who need a simple, but powerful portable computing device. If my mom needed a new computer right now, this is what I'd have her get.
Whatever will they think of next! are they just trying to fill a product gap between eBooks and notepads? At least with new LED backlight technology the new iPad should have a good working battery life. I think it's too big to fit in the pocket and too small to be a notepad, so it's in the Tablet PC category. Like we haven't got enough tech to carry already!
OK, now I'm seriously interested. What is this thing? What does it do? And will I love it?

It is a mobile device bigger than an iPhone but smaller than a laptop though the screen size is great as you have no keyboard and everything is done with your fingers. It weighs 1.5 ib has a 10 hour battery life and does everything that an iPhone does but better (exceapt for the phone bit!!). There is video about it on the Apple site.
